lia sophia says jewelry can be used to accent physical features

Have you ever wished you had a different face shape, a longer neck or a more striking appearance? You're not alone. Women shop for clothing that brings out their bodies' best features. However, many women may not realize that something as simple as jewelry can also make a positively profound difference in their appearance.

"There are so many possibilities when it comes to jewelry. A necklace, bracelet or earrings can help you transition from work to night life, casual to formal, and even make you look slimmer," said Bonni Davis, Vice President of Sales for lia sophia. "With a twist to the typical New Year's resolution of weight loss, our mission is to show how jewelry can enhance a woman's physical appearance.”

For example, Davis suggests women highlight their best physical features with accessories. "To accentuate their neckline, women can wear a mid-length necklace; to keep with the trends, try out a multi-colored beaded necklace," Davis said. In addition, to bring attention to their hands, women can try out large cocktail rings in silver and black or those featuring dark colors.

In contrast, Davis said there are ways women can flatter their least favorite parts of their bodies. For women who have short necks, silver or gold oval-shaped, hoop earrings will be much more flattering to the ear and will make your face look slightly thinner. If you find that your fingers are on the shorter side, replace bold, chunky rings and rings that have a vertical design with classic bands or other elegant-looking ring styles.

Julianne Moore stars in BVLGARI’s Eccentric Charisma

February 2010 is the release date for Bulgari's "Eccentric Charisma" campaign, conceived as an expression of the spirit and values of the brand and an interpretation of a lifestyle that the maison has created over the years through creativity and innovation.

The star of the campaign is Julianne Moore, an actress with 48 films and 4 Oscar nominations to her credit, chosen to represent the style and personality of the Bulgari woman. A choice inspired by her timeless charisma, which transcends the trends and myths of the moment to earn her a place in the history not only of cinema, but of feminine elegance.

A woman of inescapable magnetism, confident and daring, never conventional, yet at the same time a connoisseur of refined beauty. Her world is the sum of her experiences, her encounters, her travels, and her instinctive ability to find beauty where others can not.

Julianne Moore's extraordinary combination of Pre-Raphaelite splendor, sharp intelligence and contemporary charisma was captured for the occasion by photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot, who chose a setting with an Oriental flavor.

Opulent and richly colored as an exotic boudoir, furnished with sumptuous pillows, plush brocades, purple satin and peacock feathers, this is the frame that transforms Ms. Moore's unique beauty into a contemporary odalisque – mysterious, luminous and sophisticated. The utterly unexpected presence of exotic animals underscore her irresistible eccentricity and a temperament that defies all preconceptions.

Medical ID tags in fashion

It's statistically proven that medical identification tags save lives. Medical ID tags should be worn by the millions of people suffering from chronic conditions like diabetes, cardiac issues, asthma, allergies and other conditions that require special medical treatment. Yet only a small percentage of Americans with chronic conditions actually wear medical ID tags because either they don't want to emphasize their medical condition or the traditional, clunky medical ID tags don't fit their personal style.

Lauren's Hope creates fashionable jewelry that allows its customers to choose bracelets, necklaces, watches and other jewelry that is stylish and discreet enough to fit your own personal style, while communicating important medical information in case of an emergency. Lauren's Hope offers chic medical ID jewelry for men, women and children of all ages and styles, from elegant to funky to sports-themed jewelry. Lauren's Hope offers gift wrapping and guaranteed shipping by Christmas if ordered by Dec. 22.

PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise color makes fashion statement

Pantone LLC, an X-Rite company and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries announced PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, an inviting, luminous hue, as the color of the year for 2010. Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.

“In many cultures, Turquoise occupies a very special position in the world of color,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “It is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.”

Whether envisioned as a tranquil ocean surrounding a tropical island or a protective stone warding off evil spirits, Turquoise is a color that most people respond to positively. It is universally flattering, has appeal for men and women, and translates easily to fashion and interiors. With both warm and cool undertones, Turquoise pairs nicely with any other color in the spectrum. Turquoise adds a splash of excitement to neutrals and browns, complements reds and pinks, creates a classic maritime look with deep blues, livens up all other greens, and is especially trend-setting with yellow-greens.

Treat yourself to the luxury of handcrafted jewelry!

Alloys by Design announced the introduction of its Signature collection of handcrafted jewelry.

"We are very proud to show this new line of jewelry," said Melanie Dean, VP of Sales for Alloys by Design. "Audrey Burchett, the owner/designer, makes all of our jewelry by hand, one piece at a time. When you buy a piece of jewelry from Alloys by Design you know that you have a unique piece of high quality jewelry."

Audrey Burchett has been crafting jewelry for seven years - each of her designs are unique pieces of art.

For this new line, Audrey created a unique process, which she has termed the "Archean Process." The lengthy process starts with mixing and melting a special alloy of silver and other metals. As she heats this new alloy, the metals within the alloy begin to melt at different temperatures, creating interesting textures and ripples on the surface of the metal. Once the metal has become texturized, Audrey then works with naturally occurring patinas in the metal to create a colorful abstract design. The result is a beautiful, vivid, completely original work of art.

DiamondGeezer implements ban on diamonds from Zimbabwe

DiamondGeezer, a leading online fine diamond jeweller has implemented an immediate trading ban on all diamonds from Zimbabwe’s Marange diamond fields due to severe human rights violations. The ban does not apply to all diamonds from Zimbabwe only those from the Marange area. Severe human rights violations have taken place in the diamond fields of Marange, Zimbabwe and the DiamondGeezer board of directors has passed a resolution banning the trade or use of any Marange diamonds.

No Blood DiamondsZimbabwe is home to 11.9 million people and accounts for a tiny and estimated 0.4 percent of global diamond production. This once thriving landlocked African country has become increasingly dependent on diamond exports to support its collapsed economy. Partnership Africa Canada, a leading regional NGO has reported that Zimbabwe's diamond industry is out of control. ‘The government has expropriated diamond lands and companies without due process and awarded the prizes to ZANU-PF supporters and to the military. It has used brute force to clear the diamond fields…murdering hundreds of people in the process. Increasing military control in almost all of the diamond mines, and over the Ministry suggests that a new conflict scenario may be developing.’

Zimbabwe's ninth largest export, diamond exports are valued at 33 million U.S dollars a year. In recent years there is a 1.33 million carats of diamonds shortfall between what the country has mined and what the country has exported. Valued at $150 million, the general belief and assumption is that they have been illegally smuggled out of the country.
